VASP

A VASP is a business that exchanges, transfers, safekeeps, or issues virtual assets on behalf of customers and is therefore subject to AML/CFT regulation.

The FATF term VASP covers exchanges, custodians, brokers, OTC desks, and hosted-wallet providers that move virtual assets for third parties. Because a VASP touches customer funds, it inherits obligations such as customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, and Travel Rule data exchange. Distinguishing a VASP-controlled deposit address from a self-hosted one changes the risk picture. On our platform you can score an incoming address, run KYT on the transaction, and read an exposure breakdown that attributes flows to exchange, mixer, or sanctioned clusters, so you can tell whether counterparty funds passed through a regulated VASP.
