Exposure Breakdown

An exposure breakdown is a categorized summary of how much of an address's funds trace to each type of entity, separating direct and indirect exposure.

An exposure breakdown is the compliance-facing output of tracing: instead of one opaque verdict, it reports the share of an address's value linked to each entity category — regulated exchange, mixer, darknet market, sanctioned entity — and distinguishes direct exposure from indirect exposure reached over multiple hops. It is produced by fund-flow tracing and taint analysis over the transaction graph, with categories drawn from on-chain labels and weighted by attribution confidence. A KYT screen consumes this breakdown to decide whether to clear, review, or reject a deposit, and it feeds directly into an overall address risk score.
