Ransomware Tracing

Ransomware tracing is the fund-flow investigation of an extortion payment from the victim's transfer to the point where the operator cashes out.

Ransomware tracing starts from a known ransom payment address — often published in an incident report — and applies fund-flow tracing across every hop the operator uses to launder proceeds. Along the way it identifies mixers, chain hopping, and nested exchanges, attributing each hop through entity clustering and on-chain labels. The goal is to reach a cash-out point, typically a regulated exchange where an off-chain identity can be requested. The resulting counterparty graph and exposure breakdown give investigators and compliance teams a picture of the operation's flow of funds and its links to other known campaigns.
