Market capitalization

Market capitalization is the total value of a cryptocurrency's circulating supply, calculated as circulating supply multiplied by the current price.

Market cap is the standard way to size and rank tokens, since price alone ignores how many units exist. It multiplies circulating supply by spot price, so it moves with both. Because it excludes locked or unissued tokens, it differs from fully diluted valuation. To compute market cap from our API you combine two primitives: a spot price read and the token's circulating supply from token metadata. Treat it as an approximation, since supply figures and thin liquidity can distort the number.
