Spot price

A spot price is the current market price at which a cryptocurrency can be bought or sold for immediate settlement.

The spot price reflects what an asset trades for right now, as opposed to a future or derivative price. Because the same token trades on many venues at slightly different prices, a usable spot feed aggregates across markets into a single reference. In our API, spot prices are a cheap C1 read and can be batched, so a wallet or portfolio view can fetch quotes for many tokens in one request. Pair spot with OHLCV candles when a caller needs history as well as the latest quote.
