Circulating supply
Circulating supply is the amount of a cryptocurrency's tokens that are currently in public hands and available to trade, excluding locked or unissued tokens.
Circulating supply counts the tokens actually in the market, leaving out amounts held in vesting contracts, team reserves or not yet minted. It is the supply figure used for market cap, whereas total or maximum supply feeds fully diluted valuation. Estimating it accurately requires knowing which addresses hold locked or reserved tokens. Our token metadata exposes supply fields, and on-chain balance data lets a caller refine circulating figures by excluding known locked holdings.
