KYC

Know Your Customer (KYC) is the process of identifying and verifying a customer's identity and evaluating their risk profile as part of AML compliance.

KYC collects and verifies identity data, screens the customer against sanctions and PEP lists, and assigns an initial risk rating that shapes ongoing monitoring. It is an identity-layer control, distinct from KYT, which watches on-chain behaviour. The two are complementary: KYC establishes who the customer is, while KYT and our on-chain primitives establish what their funds are. Once a customer is onboarded, our address risk-score, sanctions screening, and KYT transaction screening extend KYC into continuous, transaction-level assurance, flagging when a verified customer's deposits or withdrawals develop illicit exposure that identity checks alone cannot detect.
