Wallet Fingerprinting

Wallet fingerprinting identifies the software or service that built a transaction from characteristic construction choices such as input ordering, nonce handling, and fee estimation.

Every wallet implementation leaves subtle marks in the transactions it builds: how it orders inputs and outputs, which script or address types it uses, its fee-bumping style, nonce behavior, and locktime conventions. Wallet fingerprinting reads these details to guess the originating software, which sharpens entity attribution and strengthens change-address detection by predicting how a given wallet places change. Combined with on-chain labels, a consistent fingerprint across addresses is corroborating evidence they share a controller. Like other heuristics it is probabilistic, so a fingerprint match raises attribution confidence but never establishes control on its own.
