Trading volume
Trading volume is the total quantity of an asset bought and sold over a given period across the markets being measured.
Volume shows how much of an asset actually changed hands and is a core signal of interest and liquidity: high volume tends to mean tighter spreads and more reliable prices. It also underpins VWAP, since volume is the weight in that average. OHLCV candles carry volume per interval alongside price, so our candle feed lets a caller read volume over any window, and on-chain swap data lets DEX volume be reconstructed from decoded transactions.
