TRON Bandwidth

Bandwidth is a TRON resource, consumed in proportion to a transaction's byte size, covered by a free daily allowance or by staking TRX.

TRON meters transactions by Bandwidth, which is consumed according to the byte size of the transaction rather than its computation. Every account gets a small free daily Bandwidth allowance, and beyond that users stake TRX to earn more or burn TRX to cover the cost. Simple TRX transfers mostly consume Bandwidth, while contract calls also consume Energy. Tracking both resources is key to predicting fees. Our TRON archive API reports Bandwidth usage and the free allowance per account, so you can model transfer costs before broadcasting.
